My brain runs in vicious cycles. Here is an example:

I made this cake for Valentine's Day, but it would work just as well for any other special occasion. It is comprised of three layers: vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate. The great thing about this cake is that it's very versatile. I had fun using two types of icing: buttercream and some chocolate ganache. Yummo!

I know I'm suppose to do these things sooner, but lets just say I'm behind the times. Even more so since I'm only posting two photos today and the the recipe tomorrow : )

Over the holidays my mom and I had some fun making cute desserts as gifts for some friends and family. I like to experiment, especially while in the States, as I had all the ingredients at my fingertips. Most specialty items are hard to come by in Belarus.

My mom also made her pound cake and spice nuts which she is reknowned for. She makes them every Christmas.
